Merry Christmas (In July) From the Bull & Bush
Denver, CO July 23, 2010- Well, It’s that time of year again so let’s eat, drink, and be merry!!!
Starting Monday, July 26, the Bull & Bush Pub and Brewery, Colorado’s world famous watering hole, will be pouring a new specialty beer each day as a toast to the festive (off)season. On Wednesday, July 28, the bar will host a Christmas in July Beer Tasting Party and that Friday evening, the “Holiday” week will culminate in a fake New Years Eve to celebrate the Glendale landmark’s 39th Anniversary in style.
Check out the Bull and Bush website, BullandBush.com, for the tapping schedule for next week, and don’t forget that once each beer is gone, it’s gone! Be sure to come down and enjoy your favorites as soon as they start to pour.
Wednesday night, the Bull & Bush elves will be opening up a bunch of presents to share with everyone! A tasting extravaganza will boast more Christmas beers than would fit under your tree. The party gets started at 6 P.M. and goes until the Christmas ‘Cheers’ run dry. When you arrive, you will receive a tasting sheet so you can keep track of what you enjoyed. $20 gets you in and includes 20 “tasting tickets” to start (don’t worry, you can always buy more!). Beer samples will range from 1 to 3 tickets depending on the vintage and rarity of the beer. There will be everything from nice to naughty beers, and you don’t even have to end up on the good side of Santa’s list to enjoy!
Capping off the week in Winter Wonderland is the Bull & Bush yearly rampant, riotous Rhythm & Booze Blowout Anniversary Party! Come celebrate 39 amazing years with The Bull & Bush crew! It may be hot outside, but there will be a cool New Years Eve Party inside, hosted by The Legendary 4-Nikators, who will countdown to midnight, when we can all toast another great year to come for The Bull & Bush family and friends! Don’t miss this one; cover only $6.99 at the door! Music will get started around 9, so come by early to loosen up your dancing feet!
Thanks, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

The Legend of the Liquid Brain Imperial Stout gets GOLD at 2010 World Beer Cup!
The Bull & Bush Brewery Wins Gold Award in Largest International Beer Competition Ever Held
The Bull & Bush Brewery recently claimed a Gold Award in the Brewers Association (BA) World Beer Cup® 2010, the world’s largest ever commercial competition. An international panel of judges evaluated beers from around the world and recognized a select few as the most outstanding beers being produced in the world today.
Gold, silver and bronze awards in the competition’s 90 beer-style categories were awarded April 10, 2010 during the World Beer Cup Gala Awards Dinner at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers in Chicago, Ill., U.S.A. The Bull & Bush Brewery would like to thank the Brewers Association, the Sheraton staff, the Illinois Brewing community, and the city of Chicago for representing themselves so well and hosting such a wonderful event.
The Bull & Bush Brewery was awarded Gold in the Wood and Barrel-Aged Strong Beer category for “The Legend of the Liquid Brain Imperial Stout”. The previously decorated and celebrated Legend of the Liquid Brain Imperial Stout, Vintage 2006, was aged in a used 23-year-old Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrel for 18 months. Perfect balance is on display here, with big, bold flavors and smooth, refined textures. The Bull & Bush Brewery is a small, local, 7 barrel brewpub, located in the Cherry Creek Neighborhood of Denver that has since 1971 been ‘The Granddaddy of Denver Watering Holes’. On New Year’s Day 1997, we started producing Award Winning Traditional Hand Crafted English-Style Ales, as well as other global styles, to pair perfectly with the well-known pub food and friendly local atmosphere.
The brains behind The Legend, Master Brewer Gabe ‘Sammy Suitcase’ Moline had this to say in his acceptance speech; “I could not have pulled this off without my late aroma hop additions, also I would like to thank every single yeast cell that went to work during that week of fermentation, their dedication and hard work so often go unnoticed.”
Owner Erik Peterson, having been seen after winning the award with what could only be described as ‘being caught with one foot off the Merry-Go-Round,’ marveled at the accomplishment of his brewing staff. “Suffice it to say this is a great success and reward for us, and we are unbelievably proud to have won this Gold Award, in the largest single category, going up against 112 other incredible beers!”
An international panel of 179 beer judges from 26 countries selected world Beer Cup 2010 winners. An impressive field of 3,330 entries from 642 breweries in 44 countries made up the competition. More than 3,800 breweries in 100 countries were invited to compete.
